first birthday in park---entertainment
i'm having DD's birthday in a local park. there is a playground for the kids to play on but i'm also thinking of getting either music together to come or some other entertainment just so that there's something structured for at least 45 minutes or so. can anyone recommend anything inexpensive?

We are also having DD's first birthday in a park. I think we are going to get an ice cream man, and just get some balls, kites, and stuff for the kids to play with. we'll have about 15 kids, ages 1-9, I think between the stuff we bring, the playgound and running around we won't need anything else.

How many kids will you have? Are they together often? DH's family has a ton of kids, and everytime they get together they have a great time. I think for them any form on entertainment will just get in their way. Where are you having the party?

Re: first birthday in park---entertainment
Honestly if you are having it in a park and there is a playground, I don't think you need any entertainment. I would save your money! Just get some balls, bubbles (a must) and some other outdoor toys. Trust me they won't get bored.
PS - I just had DD's 1st bday party this wknd and we had Music Together from Not Just Art. Sherri was wonderful and the kids loved her. She was $200.

Re: first birthday in park---entertainment
i'm thinking of doing music together....at least the kids will be entertained for like 30-40 minutes. i'm just worried that we're having it at a park so i don't know if they will do it outside. also, if it rains i'd have to make sure that they'd be okay switching to the raindate.

Gymboree does parties on the go....at your location.
The instructor we use is absolutely awesome......his classes are always full because the kids and parents absolutely love him.
If you are interested, let me know...I think the price is 200 for one hour for members and 250 for non memebers.
