What was the deciding factor that made you move focus from the TTC board to IF?

When I got my blood test results back and the Dr. said my FSH was 14.2 and he wanted to put me on clomid. Nov. 2005. I had to insist he do the blood test.
But I would READ posts here, just wouldn't admit I BELONGED here.

well I was here when it started and was kinda because some of us were becoming "long timers" as we called it on the TTC baord. DebG emailed RON about the idea and it began and I movved myself over.
It was getting hard to watch people come and go so quickly on TTC and It was also hard to relate to some people there and I prefered here. But also some of us didnt want to depress or scare a lot of the new TTC;ers and it was helpful to not have to worry about that as well.

well said. This was pretty much it for me. But also we had been trying for over a year and once we were going for treatments and seeing an RE I just didnt feel like I fit in on TTC. In my head TTC is cute and fun and something to celebrate. We were well past that, I no longer feel that our journey is any of those. It is now a mission!
 to all of you. We need to see more graduates.

Me too. I knew pretty early on due to anovulation that I was probably going to move over here.
With all due respect to most on the TTC board I just couldn't relate to much of the discussion. I knew I was trying much harder (charts, OPK's, etc. religiously) and no luck at all. I couldn't read another... "Wow, we are pregnant on the first try" post or "I always ovulate at 1:43pm on the 15th day... why was I seven minutes late this month?" I'm older to begin with and knew I had a problem before the doctor's did despite me pleading for bloodwork for years. I'm more complicated and know this is the forum filled with women who understand the struggle.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. I was posting a lot on infertility boards b/c I had felt like I had lost that connection on the TTC board, if that makes sense.

I too moved over the day it was created and didn't go back to the TTC board all that often.
I am sooo glad that so many of us have made friendships and found souch support nad comfort from this board.

I have PCOS also. Although my Dr. wants us to try on our own for a few months, I'm really skeptical about anything happening. So far it's been 3 months and nothing. I probably lurk on here more than I post, but I find this board extrememly helpful.

Juju, i hope it wasn't too painful for you. Some people think that as long as you "o" everything is OK but i know from experience that that that isn't the case...an RE could make me "o" but he can't make my eggs young again...so you know by now that an RE can help you with IVF right?? Or perhaps surgery.... many on here have been through one, the other, or both. We will help you through this and hope for a BFP for you!!

In a perfect world none of us would be here but we do welcome you  Like in my previous post of the TTC board unfortunately it is not the greatest news but now the doctor's can take concrete steps to work around it.
And I agree with what Kara said, the biggest challene to the docs is quality of the eggs.
I have a friend who had both tubes blocked and she had IVF at NSUH, twice. She has 4 kids. One pregnancy they implanted three and only one took. The next they inplanted three and all three took so whe has an adorable set of triplets.

I hope your stay here is very short. But the girsl here are amazing. You will get every bit of info and support that you need. Between all of us, I think we have every diagnosis, procedure, drug and RE on long island covered.
