I truly mean make your own hours. My DH works a rotating shift and his days off/ hours are never the same week to week. I need to work around him. Not really looking full-time. More or less 20 hours per week.

Do people need assistants to help file, here and there? I'm so lost right now. TIA!

Kel - There are definitely jobs like that out there, they're just not easy to find. Are you looking specifically for an office job or would you want to do something like Partylite/Arbonne/Avon?

I guess an office job. As much as I would love to do the work from home job selling things, I suck at that. I need to know I'm getting income and not relying on my friends to host parties. I have no real sales experience, but I am computer savvy and uber organized. Guess I need to start at the bottom. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Well if you have strong computer skills and are organized, you could look into being a "virtual assistant".

The best one to make your own hours is to work for yourself. Have your own business.

You say you are super organized.

Have you thought about being a professional organizer for others?

Kelly, have you considered asking your company if you can work from home? I know you said they are moving within a year... but perhaps you could continue on part from home? Or maybe you can work it so you only have to go into the office one day a week and can do the rest from home?

Thank you all for your ideas! My boss keeps telling me not to worry, but I need to look into my options.

Working from home is IMPOSSIBLE in my field. Believe me, I would kill for that.

Try a temp agency.

I used to hire temps from time to time but I have not done that at all since I got the paralegal. Now he does the paralegal work but I do the filing Chat Icon . At any rate, I do know other sole practitioner attorneys who hire temps. but I don't know anyone looking for someone on a consistent basis.
