Anyone every crochet anything with plastic yarn made from plastic bags?

I think I want to reuse all the plastic bags I have into crocheted shopping bags.

No, but it sounds like an interesting concept. I've never heard of it before. If you do, I'd be interested to hear about it.

i've known about it for a LONG time.

honestly, it does not appeal to me. i can only imagine how awful that must feel on your hands as you're working with it.

i've seen a lot of things made with plarn, though. and again, i don't love the way they look.

if you decide to go for it, would love to see what you make... most things i've seen made are market bags, bath mats, mats for shoes (like for a mud room), and some handbags.

I know this is a somewhat old thread, but I never knew this had a name!

The ladies in my nail salon do this when its slow.
They make seasonal decorations that they hang from the wooden letter with the name of the nail salon that hnags on the wall--like hearts for Valentines day.

It's cute in the nail salon, and this way they don't have to buy & eitehr store orthow out seasonal decorations.

It's up on the wall, so at first I couldn't even tell what it was made out of from a distance.
