When you're out with someone else's kid(s)...
And people start asking you questions about them...do you tell them they are not yours or just answer what you can?
I was at the aquarium with my nephew and women kept talking to me for various reasons, asking questions and making small talk...I just answered them, never saying he was my nephew. What do you usually do?

Strangers always just assume my niece and nephew are my kids. When they ask questions I just answer them the best I can. People always tell me how much they look like me ... I just say thanks and walk away lol

I've had people say "she looks just like you!" about my niece...i then answer "well..that's probably because I am her aunt"...i always let people know they aren't mine..but that they are awesome kids none the less!
ETA: only if they imply they are mine...haha...i don't yell out "they're not my kids!!!"

I just answer the questions -- if I'm out with my niece and someone asks a question about her outfit or how old she is or whatever, I will answer...no need to get into specifics about what the relation is really.

I would pretend they were mine. I love 'renting' other peoples children for the day.
My little nephew on DHs side is African & I'm white as bread so people assume I'm a babysitter. He still calls me Auntie & is totally unaware we do not look related.

This reminds me of when I was 15 yrs old and was babysitting a toddler.
We were at the park and two moms came over and started chatting me up...they asked me casual questions age, name..I replied.
As they walked away I heard them talking about kids having kids 
I let them think he was mine bc I found it so obnoxious that they would talk to me then let me hear them ugh

To the OP - I just answer the questions but depending on the question I may say I'm their aunt. It depends on what I'm being asked.
