Winthrop Hospital & Tour?

If you've delivered there before vaginal or c/s how was your experience? Do they have private rooms? When do you schedule a tour?
The OB that i use now is affiliated with Good Sam but im thinking about changing over to a new OB who is affiliated with Winthrop. Thanks

I never scheduled a tour. with my 1st I just went to hospital and directed to L & D. I gave birth vaginally there, and I loved the delievery room even though I wasnt there very long.

I didnt get a private room since I wasnt putting up the cost. I had a roommate and she left and I was alone for a day.

I am delivering at Winthrop. Just called to schedule my tour the other day...I'm due June 18th and my tour is on May 13th.
I hope to get a private room - I believe they are in the $200 range for private room...out of pocket cost. If hospital is crowded though they cannot guarantee you a private room.

Does anyone know how many people can be in the labor/delivery room? I want my husband and mom to be in there but i was also thinking about getting a doula. Thanks!!

when i went for the the tour the said

you +2 ppl in the delivery room

so ud have to pick your mom or doula not both (assuming u have dh/sig other in the room)

and ure not allowed to switch between ppl...so the doula/your mom cant share/swap the band.

as far as private rooms (after l&d)...u have to pay extra and there arent that many. so if u want one u have to tell them ASAP when u get there & hope they have 1 available.
