So excited
I am happy to say that after three years of services- speech, OT, SEIT, social skills group and parent training... Jacob will be attending mainstream kindergarten!!!!! He will be declassified, will have no IEP but he will have an instructional aide in the classroom.
This was the best case scenario that coulldl have happened for us!!!
Please keep up the faith with all of your children. I really believe being proactive, taking every service that was offered and maturity on JAcob's part led him to this...

Thank you for all your posts. I have been on cloud nine all day!!!
We still have some behavior stuff to work out but I know he will grow within the next 6 months.
For anyone with meetings coming up in the next couple of months-- make sure you and your therapists are on the same page, make sure you are prepared with what you want to say and be cool and calm when speaking. Yelling or being belligerant will get you no where.Also, research all the options that are offered for your child. If the district offers open houses to tour certain classes, go to them, the better educated you are, the better prepared you will be. Ask around parents who have had children in the district about the teachers. There may be certain teachers that are a better fit for your child...
