Storytime Live Today
Just wanted to share for those of you going, I went with DD today, and it was AWESOME!! It was her first live show, and she was simply mesmerized.
All of my fears of keeping her in the seat and/or chasing her all over Radio City were put to rest - the show captivated her, and she sat like an angel through the whole thing.
A few things I noted:
- you CAN bring your camera, so if you have one, and want to bring it, go for it!
- I had DD's sippy cup in my bag, and no one said anything to me, though the time flew by and we didn't even need it.
- Do not worry if your DC jumps, yells, or otherwise expresses him/herself...it's a kids' show...they're prepared for and EXPECTING that...
- There is so much going on on stage, if your DC likes these characters, odds are, they'll be fine!
- There is a stroller check, so you can bring your stroller into RCMH, but be advised when picking it up after the show, it's a little "cutthroat"
- Magnolia Bakery is two blocks away on 48th and 6th and their cupcakes are SO worth it!!!

That sounds great! At what age would you recommend it for? My DD is actually pretty good but I think she is too young right now (almost 6 months). I am wondering if next year she could enjoy it?

Re: Storytime Live Today
We went yesterday and had a great time!!!!
All the kids sat like angels. Alexa actually fell asleep during the show
Ages of kids: 3 1/2, almost 18 months and 13 months.
The stroller check was great!! We brought food in and drinks no problem at all.
And we bought the light up things and toys outside Radio City for so much less. They have the cutest butterfly light up thing there.
It was such a great show. We had to park far away because I wasn't paying attention but it worked out great. Andrew loved walking around the Big City We stopped along the way and bought him some toys from street vendors and he loved it.
Next time we are going to go into the city and stay longer.

There were kids aged 1 - 4 there really enjoying it...I'd say you'd have to judge your own DD...if she is into the characters, and pretty good with attention span, I'd say probably 18 months and up...
DD is 2 1/2, but I'd say for us, we could definitely have done this 6-8 months ago...but it was easier now, because her communication is better and she's very well behaved....

Yes, we fell prey to the RCMH trap of $20 for a light that is $10 outside!!!
There is a parking garage on 48th Street, where we parked, so it's really close...
We walked up to FAO Schwarz as well, which they loved!!

Re: Storytime Live Today
We went today as well and DS had a fantastic time. He always loves the city so that was an added bonus for him. I was actually surprised how much he liked the show! It was really good!
Wish I had seen this post this morning though b/c I am kicking myself that we missed the cupcakes...DS loves cupcakes (and mommy does too)

We went today and had a really good time as well...I don't think Kaydyn sat for more than 10 mins but there were tons of kids moving about so it was perfect for her.
