Would you go to Vegas??
My husband and I want to plan a small trip this summer before the baby comes. I don't want to leave the country, but I don't mind flying. I would like to go somewhere where I can lay in a pool all day, that where there are things for me to do at night that do not involve only drinking and bars.
My husband and I were thinking Vegas. Ill be 24 weeks when we plan on going. Mind you, we have been there numerous times, so we don't need to do all the walking to see all the hotels. We plan on staying at the Mirage, where we have stayed before, because of its beautiful pool and the casinos are not smokey.
My thoughts on vegas are that I can lay in the pool all day, but we can do shows and stuff at night. If I get tired early, my husband can go to the casino and gamble a bit. I can even do some gambling as long as its not smokey.
We would go in early July, and I know how hot it gets. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know what to expect. Is it a completely crazy idea??

I went to Florida in August at about the same point in my pregnancy. You just need to keep hydrated and take it easy and you will be fine.
I did a lot of laying on the beach and swimming.

One of my friends went to Vegas in July of last year, she was I think 7 months or so. She had a blast and wants to go back lol.
Just like the OP said, stay hydrated!

I am definately not against traveling during pregnancy if all is well with you and the baby....
However, with that being said, I went to Vegas in July 2 years ago when I was NOT pregnant and it felt like hell on earth. The temps were well over 100, we saw multiple tourists passed out on the strip, and my freakin flip flops melted!! The pools felt like you were swimming in pee because they were about 95 degrees so clearly no relief there. Even at night, it was about 95 degrees and humid so walking then wasnt any better.
Just be careful if you choose vegas. I definately could not do it now that I am pregnant.

We will be going when I am 18 weeks. I went when I was 35 weeks pregnant with my DD and I had a blast. (Mind you, I live a few hours away from Vegas, so I didn't have to fly )

I definitely am NOT against going away when pregnant either. We just went to the Bahamas a few weeks ago when I was 21 weeks! But, just keep in mind, Vegas in July is sweltering! You need to stay EXTREMELY hydrated, and sometimes the pools are no relief, because they get so damn hot too! I think you are right in the sense that there is SO much to do, so I say, ask the doc and check with him first, and if he gives you the thumbs up, go for it! Can you guys shoot for maybe June? It's still hot, but not as bad as July!

I went to vegas at 31 weeks in 2008 (my 2nd baby). I sat by the pool all day in a cabana, kept my feet up and drank virgin daiquiris. At night we did the casino thing, but I got tired easily and was in my bed by 10. On the plane ride I got up as much as i could to avoid swelling. I say go

I would say go except I've been there in July when it was over 100 even at night so walking anywhere is tough  Mirage is pretty central though so it might not be so bad.
I actually had a wild weekend in Vegas when I was PG but didnt find that out until 4 days after I got home

i would go and stay at mandalay bay i love the pool. fyi if u r sensitive smoke remember everyone smokes in vegas inside
