wedding video

I just got my wedding video after waiting almost 7 months. I was very disappointed Chat Icon They did not use the songs we picked, they didn't do any special effect. it almost seem like a home video. I have never seen a proffessionally done video and am wondering if i am just being a bridezilla. For all the money we paid i was expecting more.
Were you brides happy with the end result of your video?
Would anyone want to share there video with me?
I just want to see others before i call the company and share my disappointment.

TIA

Im so sorry you feel this way!!!!

I just got my video on Saturday and it was fine. I personally was not looking for fancy edits, and special aongs. I didnt even tell my video guy what songs to use, I dindnt really care.

i thought mine came out really well, and im very happy with it.

The main thing I would tell you is if you TRULY hate it, BUY THE RAW FOOTAGE. It will probably cost you between $100 and $200. That ay, ultimatly, you can take it to someone and have it re-done.

The other thing is you need to be happy. Talk to the videographer. Tell him, calmly that yo would like to discuss re-doing the video. The worst thing that happens is he says no. And frankly, if he did a crappy job the first time, why have him do it again.

So spend the money on the raw footage. We did.

Hope this helps.

Re: wedding video

definitely talk to the videographer and editor. i was very happy with my video and for the money you pay it should be everything you want it to be!

i didn't have too many special effects, only a menu in the beginning and the fading between each "chapter" of the video, but they did use the songs i asked.

Re: wedding video

I'm sorry your unhappy with your video. Every company has their own style and I think it depends on the videographer and what was discussed prior to the wedding. We spent less on our photos and more on our video because we Chat Icon our videographer. He doesn't refer to it as a video its a wedding movie! It takes 6-9 months for a finished product, we haven't gotten ours yet and I'm in so much suspense! I would definitely talk to whoever you used if you aren't happy and see if they can make some changes for you. GL

I would ask them to redo it - it sounds like they didn't do what you asked so they should redo it using your songs and whatever effects you had asked for...

I'm so sorry--I would definitely ask them to redo it! Wedding videos are a lot of money and it should definitely look better than home movies.

Re: wedding video

UGGGHHH...but I know how you feel. I got married last June and had a WHOLE list of problems with my videographer (like he didn't show up, and instead sent someone else, who knew nothing about the arrangement and was unprepared to meet the arrangement, i.e....video to show at reception). he didn't return phone calls after the wedding and I had to send my husband over to his house physically to wrangle the video off of him. When we DID get the video it SUCKED....I basically ripped it off the DVD that he gave us and edited the whole thing over again myself. It came out awesome and no one that I have showed it to knows that I did it myself. But thats the advantage I have being a techy person who tends to be a DIY'fer. Chat Icon

Sorry you have to deal with that.
