Evals are back! Good news!

DS is transitioning from EI to CPSE. He currently gets speech, OT and 1/2 day center based. You may remember that when DS had his psych eval - he did HORRIBLY. They actually mentioned PDD NOS as a possibility and they gave me an Achenbach scale to complete. They also sat in on the rest of the evals and talked to his teachers/therapists.

We got the results yesterday and I'm thrilled!

Higher than 33% delay in Speech (expected)
almost 25% delay in Fine Motor
almost 25% delay in Gross Motor
25-33% delay in sensory profile
25% delay in social/emotional
25% delay in self help

They are recommending speech, OT (but they said I may have to advocate for it at the meeting) and full day center based program in an 8-1-2 classroom. She said that it would be a high functioning classroom, but I haven't done much research yet. The best part is that there is no diagnosis and I'm happy about that.

SO now to find a school!
He is at Brookville Marcus ave right now and I like it there. They have a spot available for him if I wish but I also want to look at:

Mill Neck
Barbara Wilson

Any feedback is appreciated!

i've heard good things about Barbara Wilson but don't know anything personally.
that's great that your getting what he needs! why aren't they offering pt too if he has a 25% gross motor delay though?

They said you have to have GREATER than a 25% delay. They actually said I'd have to advocate for the OT and that they would probably give it to him because he has the 25% to 33% sensory profile and because he has been getting it, but I plan to ask them at the meeting!
