I can't believe I didn't get it???
I interviewed for a PT job for an every other weekend Leasing job down here in NC and the interview went great. I also have worked for the company for over 5.5 yrs before so I have more than enough experience. I just got an email saying that they went with another candidate.  I'm so upset! I thought the job was mine? They were only interviewing a few other people?  I feel like a loser! I can't even get a PT job that I've been doing for years? Maybe they don't like that I work FT, or have kids, etc., or maybe they just don't like me?  It would have helped us make a couple of extra hundred dollars a month. oh well...
I'm really wanting to know why they didn't want to hire me? I just didn't expect it. Any thoughts?

Since you worked there already, is there someone you could ask? Maybe the other candidate has more experience, more scheduling flexability or is willing to accept a lower pay?

there could be several reasons why you didn't get it including nepotism.
I would call and find out.

The Manager emailed me. Do you think it's ok to email her back and ask her why? How do you do that without sounding sad? It's just one of those things that shock you and you just have to know why? LOL!

Well, I've worked for the company, but for other locations. The hours and pay were perfectly fine and exactly what I was looking for. I just don't understand? I hate rejection!!!

I actually asked why once. i phrased it so that i could know if i said anything that they thought would hinder future chances working for them. they told me they went with someone who had the industry experience they were looking for. it was between me and 1 other person and i really felt like i had it, everyone kept saying i was perfect for the job! stinks when that happens.
