DH's SA came back...

his motility was great but his morpholgoy was 6%, they like for it ot be 14% or better. And his count was a little under the 20 million they like to see, his was 19 million.

Even though we're going to be doing the IVF I'd still like to know if anyone knows of anything he can do to help. TIA!

Hmm not sure about the morphology part. Did you try posting in the infertility board?

Did they tell you what that meant and was it a bad thing?

The results aren't too bad, so that's good. At least now you know and can address it.

There's a supplement he can take, but it's very expensive (I think something like $300 per month). It's called Semenex I think. Not sure, I have it at home so FM me if you want the name.

A cheaper supplement is FertileAid for Men, but he would have to take 3 pills per day.

I don't know anything about morphology but I know to increase count they say loose fitting underwear, no laptops on his lap, decreased caffiene and alcohol etc.....
all in all I think thats awesome news!

my DH had slightly low morphology, so dr. b had him do a DNA defragmentation test. it came back as my DH having high oxidization which apparantly is easily fixed with an antioxidant. dr. b recommended this one called maxi-flavone that he helped develop. his name is even on the bottle!! anyway that wasn't our main issue so i don't know if it helped or not but i did just get a BFP this weekend so im sure it didn't hurt anything!!

My DH had his SA done 3 times so far. His sperm count was 19 million, 38 million, 14 million, his motility was never a problem, and his morphology was 39.7, 16, 33.5 ( actually they really want the morphology to be greater than 30). From what Dr B explained to me the numbers can vary a lot from one sample to the next. My DH is doing accupuncture once a week, never takes hot baths or hot showers, wears only boxer shorts, no lap tops on his lap (I got him a laptop table for his birthday!) eliminated all caffeine, no spicy foods or cold drinks, eats as much organic as possible and takes a whole bunch of vitamins and supplements ( let me know if you are interested in the list and I will e-mail you everything). We're at the vitamin shop every weekend now for our refills The accupuncturist told him to eat lamb, walnuts, oysters, chives and he has also given him some herbs for a while that he still takes occassionaly. I really have no idea if all these things are helping but on the IUI that I had on this cycle they told me that his sample was excelent So maybe all this is helping afterall Let me know of any other questions that you may have, I'll be more than happy to share information with you! Dh can go to acupuncturist to get herbs for treatment. Just remember that sperm take 3 months to make - so any change in his activities now will take 3 months to see a difference in his results.

My DH had slight fragmentation issues also, and is currently taking the Maxi Flavone. He also had to take Cipro for 2 weeks to correct that...
