I guess I should post this here, though I think I'm the only one with this issue
I have an 18 year old (19 this week!) that lives with me. Her sister is one of my closest friends and lives abroad with her family (DH and kids)
Katie has been in college and hasn't been home since January. She is coming home today. She texted me to ask me if her guy "friend" could stay over on Sunday night b/c he was going to go with her to her dr's appointment in Manhattan on Monday and he lives in Mattituck (and she is going to stay there Friday and Saturday) and the train would be a PITA from there.
I feel like I should say no to be a hardarse, but I don't think I care....
Her "bed" is in my dining room at the moment, so she doesn't have privacy.
What do you think?

I think allowing him would be opening the flood gates for future visitors.

Maybe mention it to her sister, see what she says?
but I would allow him to stay. . . on the couch I'm just thinking back to what was allowed in my house. I was allowed boyfriends to stay over but they weren't allowed to sleep in the same room. (even when I had an engagement ring on my finger haha)

I'm not saying whether you should or shouldn't - that's your call if you are ok with a stranger sleeping in your house, but I agree with this:

Under the circumstances I would say yes...
However I would make him sleep on the couch...
And while I understand that there are exceptions to having boyfriends/girlfriends sleep over...
I'll be damned if my kids will be sleeping in the same bed with their SO in my home...
Regardless of whether or not I already know they are having sex or not...
And this is coming from someone who was a complete hussy at that age...

truthfully the only reason that I would not let them sleep together in the same bed, is so that my young children do not see that.
They are away at college together. They sleep together there. There is no reason pretending that they dont.
