Unpeeled Kiwi?
I received a pamphlet from State Farm in the mail last week and they talk about the nutrious benefit of kiwis and there was a blurb that said, "You dont' need to peel them to eat them. Slice into a salad or use on cereal." I love kiwis but I wonder has anyone on here eaten an UNPEELED kiwi????

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
I don't put fuzzy things in my mouth. I have a hard enough time as it is with peaches.
I couldn't eat it with the skin.

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
My father has been eating unpeeled kiwi for years. We are all completely grossed out by it and constantly yell at him not to do it but he just laughs... I guess I should tell him about this post....

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
I always eat them unpeeled!
That's how I learned to eat them, so I don't think its weird at all! I don't have them all that often though, so not many opportunities for people to mock me

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
The only time I don't peel them when I eat one is when I cut one end off and use a spoon to eat it. I don't think I could actually eat the skin though - too fuzzy for me!

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
I heard that all the vitamins are in the peel/skin thats why its suggested NOT to peel the skin. My husband eats the skin- gross!!

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
Not that long ago, I read that there was a ton of "good stuff" in the skin including fiber. So what I do.......since the skin is a little rough..........I slice the kiwi in thin slices and eat them that way........this way the skin isn't so scratchy going down.

Re: Unpeeled Kiwi?
There is something called a Golden Kiwi and you can eat the whole fruit. The skin is thinner and not so hairy!
I am a font of knowledge.
