3 hour glucose test - not as bad as I thought!
I just got back from my 3 hour glucose test & it wasn't as bad as I expected.... I was able to get the drink down pretty quickly and with the exception of feeling a little lightheaded for a few minutes, I was fine. I was just bored sitting in the waiting area for so long.... I brought some paperwork with me but I jsut wasn't in the mood to do it & the phlebotomist would not let me close my eyes & rest. She actually came over when she saw me close my eyes and told me to stay alert!
I failed my 1 hour by over 35 points so I really hope I pass this one.... I will keep you ladies posted!

Re: 3 hour glucose test - not as bad as I thought!
Glad to hear it wasn't that bad for you either!
I went 2 weeks ago and the test itself really didn't bother me. And my cousin gave birth the nite before and was there with her little one, so inbetween bloodtests I went to go visit her and the baby...it definitely helped time pass. Unfortunatly, as soon as I walked outside the hospital I got really, really light headed and vomitted I'm just thankful it didn't happen before the test was over because that would have voided the whole test!
I just wanted to let you know that I was 28pts over in my 1hr..so mine were really high too...It seems more and more common now to fail the one hr but pass the 3hr..I have no idea why...but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I'm not sure why they wouldn't allow it but it might have something to do with people getting lightheaded during the test.
Good luck on your 3 hour!
