Is Christina Aguilera trying to be like Lady Gaga?
Does anyone else think this? Esp her recent act on the awards show (and American Idol)? Plus I saw those pics she did recently (someone posted them)....very Lady Gaga.
What gives? Is she that desperate to imitate Lady Gaga???

she's been getting a lot of criticism lately for that. Some people are saying she's also imitating Madonna. Either way, I agree that she seems a bit desperate. It's a shame because she has a great voice and in general I love her. But I'm not feeling it this time around because it seems like she's just trying too hard to shock people.

I don't really see it that way. I think she is trying a little hard because her last album didn't do so well, but she is always changing. Look at her different looks over the years. I don't think she is trying to be like Lady Gaga at all.

No. I do not think so and I will tell you why.
Christina was always very provocotive and hardly wore any clothes especially during her "Stripped" days. She was doing the same type of stuff that Lady Gaga is doing except Lady gaga just incorporates the freakier, strange costumes and masks. IMO Lady Ga Ga takes little pieces from the past, combines them and puts her twist on it. I see Prince and the Revolution (remember Nikki and Wendy Prince's girls in his band wore the same type lingerie. Some from Madonna and some from Christina. They were ALL doing this stuff way before GaGa was. I did see Christina's performance at the movie awards. I think that she was a little more dirtier than usual with her being more vulgar in her lyrics, but she always wore practically nothing in the past and showed off her vajay jay the same way Gaga does.

When LGG first came out on the radio, I thought she WAS C. Aguilera. They're voices do sound similar in certain ranges. I think that CA has just been out of the spotlight lately and is trying to get back in. And they are BOTH trying to be Madonna

I have seen comments and she is pisssed at the comparision.
I think she is imitating her. But she has been out for yrs so maybe she thought she could get away it bc she was famous long before Gaga...

Not a huge fan of follower of either of them, but IMO, Christina has a much better set of pipes than Gaga.

Right! Also Gaga's octave range can not touch Christina's range. As someone who is a singer, I know this for a fact! I do like Gaga, I am just starting to get a little bit tired of her.

Yes, i am not a singer but I definitely agree with you on christina's range.
I also do like gaga's music, but its almost like she is so much in my face its getting annoying. Almost like beyonce at one point

I agree.
I don't think she's trying to be Gaga at all. She has always been different and always showcased her voice. She's not trying to be nearly as outrageous as Gaga is.

Madona copied Cindy Lauper not the other way around like others implied at the time she 1st started.
Madona did the bondage thing for a while with the whip.
Christina A. was doing a LOT of what Lady Gaga is doing. LG is just doing it OVER THE TOP. Remember "Dirty". What about "lady marmelade" hair?????
CA has been out of the spotlight but the blond hair, no clothes on is what she did at the top of her game.
