I had to call 911 for the first time in my life for my mom this morning. She lives in our house (thank god) in her own apartment. She called me this morning to tell me to come downstairs. I knew something was wrong. She had fainted and then fainted two more times while I was with her. I called 911 the first time I saw her faint and they were there pretty quickly. It seems her blood pressure was super low and that is why she fainted. This is something no one should ever have to see because it was really scary. I'm still shaking over it. I'm home to get some things for her and they are keeping her for 24 hours. So far all the tests, blood, xray, catscan & EKG were all fine. Fainting 3 times and not responding to my voice with eyes open and shaking is not fine at all in my book. Her father had his 4th heartache by her age of 68 and died. My mom is in really good health and always eats right and take care of herself.
Lots of prayers please that everything will be ok.
UPDATE: Well they haven't found anything. So from what the doctors are saying, it's called Syncope. aka: fainting. It can happen to anyone at any age. It could be caused by heart problems, but so far it doesn't seem that way. It is treatable if it has something to do with her heart, but as of right now it could have been her coughing to hard on that morning because of her cold. Crazy that coughing to hard to cause your blood pressure to go down that much and cause you to faint. The reason she probably fainted 3 times was because she sat up, even though I told her to lay down and stay there. Now I can say "see I told you to stay laying down, but you didn't listen to me." I think she will be ok, but they will do some Echo tests also to make sure that the blood is flowing right.
Thanks for all of you well wish on here & through FMs.
I would absolutely get a second opinion from a known trusted doctor if you are not satisfied! I hope she feels better and is able to walk around now without any dizziness or fainting!
