Fondant Frosting
anyone ever make a cake with fondant frosting?
Is is very hard? I see pictures and do not think I could get it so neat.
I would probably buy it in Michaels or something....
I would love to try something like this for my sons birthday (either Elmo or Train themed) only I'm sure not quite as elaborate!

Re: Fondant Frosting
I have been experimenting with fondant a lot lately. I found this recipe that is so easy (a bit messy, but its fun) you just use melted marshmellows and powdered sugar. I actually think it is tastier then most fondants. It is pretty easy to work. Here is the link.

Re: Fondant Frosting
They sell the fondant pre made at Micheals and AC Moore....might be easier? But they also have the supplies for it too.

Re: Fondant Frosting
I use fondant all the time, its easy to work with, but be prepared for a lot of rolling thin. That cake only looks hard, they sell lots of fondant cutters in various shapes. You can even use cookie cutters. As for elmos face, those are those candy ones you out on cupcakes and such, the rest are plastic.
I'd be happy to help you if you need it
