Advice Needed

Hi Girls.
I really hope that you can offer advice about what to do or say in this situation. A very good friend of mine is pg but was told she has a high chance of miscarrying the baby based on its size/where she should be. I want to do the right thing by her to be supportive. Is there something that you wished a friend did or said to help ease the pain? Thanks.

I feel that the best thing you can do you let your friend know that you love her and are there for her. I know for me, I justed wanted my friends to support me or allow me to cry on their shoulder if and when I was ready. JMO.

I will pray for your friend and hope that her outcome is better then mine.

You are a good friend for being worried and wanted to do the right thing.

I am sure right now she is probably so emotional and nervous till her next appt.

I think you could always send a card or an email and let her know you are thinking of her and keeping her in your prayers.

I do not think there was anything during the time that someone would say to make me feel better. I just needed to know I had friends around me who cared and were thinking of me. But I didnt want to talk about it, and did try to avoid people for that reasone.

It is so nice of you to ask this! None of my friend's knew I was PG or had a M/C (just DH and close family) but if they did know I would have liked my friend to suggest hanging out and getting lunch of coffee just to make me feel better!

WOW im amazed that a friend like you would go this lenght to post on a forum to help a friend in need during a M/C. I wish I had you around.

All I can say is be there for her- because when I was down and out I needed someone but I wasnt sure what I needed that person to do. I know that there was on person I can truly made me feel better- that person came around often when I was going through it and spoke to me and said that everything will be ok- and cried with me. That person told me how much it is hurting them and how it hurt them to see me in so much pain. Everyone didnt know what to say to me at all but just having a person hug you and cry with you and feel a part of your pain helps..

I agree with what others said above. Just let her know you are there in whatever capacity she needs. Words don't really help and most of all advice and words of "it will all be ok and it will happen" are probably the worst even if you mean well...

Some people like to talk some don't. but as long as she knows you are there for her I think that's the most important thing. Follow her lead....
