If you have a Nook and use Suffolk Digital Wave...
My mom has a new Nook and she can't figure out how to check books out from the "library." Does she need to download software or activate anything?
A Dummies Guide to Suffolk Digital Wave would be great!
TIA!

I think you need to download the Adobe digital unlocker program on the local computer to 'unlock' the book and then move to the Nook, but I am not 100% sure as I haven't tried yet.
My new Nook is arriving today so over the next few days I will give it a try and report back if no one else has responded yet. (I actually need to goto the library to renew my card!)

I don't live on LI but were I live, you have to download the program Adobe Digital Editions which can be found on the Suffolk waves site under required software, then once you log in with your library card, you choose the book you want, and then download it and it pops up in the Adobe program, then you plug in your nook which will also show up in the Adobe program and then you just have to drag the book to the nook and you're ready to read!

Re: If you have a Nook and use Suffolk Digital Wave...
I am in Nassau and I did have to download the software.
I went to my local library first and they had a little flyer/pamphlet on how to do it step by step. Otherwise just follow the direction online.
I did find the instruction on the pamphlet to be "clearer".
It's very easy to do though!
Download software Hook your nook to the computer.
Then you just check items you want to read. Put them in your cart and do checkout. Download into the software. From the software you just "drag" the book to your nook.
The software even tells you how many days you have remaining on your checked out book.
