D&C Today
Well I had my D&C today. Surprisingly it wasn't as bad or emotional drain as the last time around. I had a partial molar triploidy Pregnancy last October and I had a blighted Ovum this time around. My doctor Recommends that we see a genetic counselor. I am wondering if its time to see am RE also.
What do you ladies think? And how long should I wait before seeing one?

Re: D&C Today
I'm so sorry you are going through this.
I had 2 miscarriages, one at 6.5 weeks and one at 9 weeks. The second one was a blighted ovum and since I got pregnant very quickly with both (only TTCing for a month or 2 for both), my OB sent me to a MFS (maternal fetal specialist) who basically will run the same testing as an RE (who deal more with reproductive and infertility issues)
I just met with the MFS and they are running the same type of blood tests as many ladies on here who saw an RE. I would def. go see one for peace of mind. I didn't think I would feel better after seeing the MFS but I feel so much better and ready to TTC again.

Re: D&C Today
I'm sorry for your loss.
I am sure today was difficult, just know things will get better.
After having 2 miscarriages in the past yr I went right to a RE. They ran a lot of tests to determine what was causing the m/c. The ran bloodwork for recurrent miscarriage panel, immune testing, genetic testing, CD 3 Testing, then had a HSG.
I would always suggest after 2 m/c seeing a RE. I remember after the 2nd miscarriage, my OBGYN said to wait till a 3rd to get tested and see a RE. I said NO WAY! I was not going to wait for this to happen a third time before getting answers. SO my response would always be to go seek out a good Dr who can run some basic tests for you now.
Most of the time it is either bad luck or something simple that can be treated.
I am now almost 14 weeks pregnant and just needed to take Lovenox, Baby Aspirin, & Progesterone. They had found out I had some clotting genes, which needed to be treated.
I'm sorry! Please feel free to FM with any questions.

UGH these stories really piss me off!! I think you did the right thing and I'm sooo happy you put your foot down and didn't listen.
All too often dr's look at your appearance and see a young healthy looking person and just ASSUME that means they are perfectly fine on the inside! And if they were willing to be just a little bit more efficient in their jobs and go that extra step some wouldn't have to suffer and 2nd and a 3rd or even a 4th time!!! it's just ridiculous!!! had you waited like that idiot tried to tell you... you would be in the same predicament you were in the first 2 times. You are already a mother in that you actually saved this baby's life by making that decision. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!
ITA with going to a dr who will test you for things. I wouldn't wait for my obgyn to FINALLY start to think that MAYBE PERHAPS it's a good idea to start looking into things!!! I'm soooo sorry for the things you had to go through.

Re: D&C Today
I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm scheduled for a D & C tomorrow after finding out that there was no hb at 9 weeks. Good luck with what you decide. This is all SO stressful and I wish you nothing but good thoughts!
