For ladies over 30+ or 35+
Has anyone had a change in AF? Length of cycle or anything? AF used to last much longer and for the past 6 months or so, it has changed. My OB wasn't concerned since AF still shows. I just finished my first AF since the HSG and chemical PG and it went right back into wacky mode. Is this just an age thing?

I am not 30 yet (next year) - but since my miscarriage my cycle has been 26 days instead of my usual 28 - i am not sure if it means anything. Sorry about your loss.

Thanks.
Not a change in cycle length - the duration AF stays.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
I'm 32....and a half I notice my AF changed a couple of years ago. It is lighter and shorter than it used to be. When I was younger I would miss school because AF was so bad I couldn't stand up straight. So I was thankful for the change.

I agree, mine were lighter and shorter and I did get them really bad and heavy when I was younger

I would have to say the same thing.
I would have AF for 7-9 days when I was younger, then about a year (a year in a half)before I pregnant is was sometimes 2-3 days long - maybe

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
Thanks ladies. AF was always at least 5 or 6 days and now is one day of spotting and then just two days. I was starting to worry something might be wrong.

HI Donna Mine have gotten much lighter and shorter, except for the last one, after my miscarriage, which was very heavy and long.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
Mine are lighter (about 4 days, 5 tops) and closer together (26 days instead of 28). No one seems worried about this, apparently it's normal after 35. As long as everything is regular, it's fine that it changes.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
Hi Donna,
I'm almost 34 and I went from 5 days, to 4 days to 2 days of spotting!!!! I haven't had a real AF for about 5-6 months before conceiving.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
I'm 34, and I used to be 5-6 days, now it's 4-5, with more time between cycles (used to be 28 days like clockwork, now it's anywhere from 28 to 36! Enough to make a girl nuts.)

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
I notice AF appears for less time each time, but I get cramps like I am a teenager again! I was on the pill for 13+ years and coming off has been quite the transition!!

My cycle is pretty regular. About 26 days. I have noticed that AF only lasts about 2-3 days.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
AF used to stay around for close to 5-7 days when I was a lot younger...before I got pg AF was around for 4-5 days...and now, AF usually only stays for about 3 days 4 max.

When I was in my 20's, AF used to stay close to 7 days. Now I only get it for about 3-4 days max.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
I'm not sure it has to do with age but AF has been a lot shorter (4 days instead of 8) and alot lighter since I went off of the pill.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
my cycle has changed quite a bit in the past 3 years. I used to be able to set a watch by it, but not anymore. AF comes when she wants to. usually anywhere between 30-34 days. which is a real drag now that we are TTC it's hard to time it.
as far as the length. some months it's long 5+ days but other months it only lasts 3 days

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
I will be 31 in June and I haven't had any change in AF. My g-ma (mothers) had AF until she was in her 60s. So I guess AF will be here for a long time.

Re: For ladies over 30+ or 35+
Since I turned 35, it's completely changed to shorter cycle, shorter duration & heavier.
It used to be 27 days, now it's 25-29 days. It's much heavier the first 2 days, then lighter the next few days. It's gone by 4-5 days.
I thought it was pregnancy related since I had 2 children with having 2 periods between birth and conception but my ob/gyn said it was an age thing.
