HR reps & anyone else, I would love your opinion (tia)

I went on an interview on Tuesday with the HR rep of the company. She loved me & I loved her! At the end of the interview she told me to think it over & if I wanted to continue the interview process, I should call back the next day.

A little background..my mil has agreed to help with watching the baby for a couple of days a week if I went back to work. After the interview I call my mil & suddenly it's a problem for her.

So sadly, I called back the HR rep, apologized & told her that I had my babysitter backed out on me so it wouldn't be fair to continue the interview process with me.

My friend just called me this morning and let me know that her SIL is a nanny & she could watch him for the 2 days I need.

Would I look like a complete flake if I called HR back & explained that I am still interested? Another thing is that I already planned a trip for end of September & need 2 days off for it. So I'd already also be asking to take 2 days off in a couple of months.

First, confirm your childcare for sure. Then, call the HR person and explain that you really wanted the position and were able to secure child care and it will not be a problem.

See what happens.

I am a recruiter and I agree with the above. You have to be sure otherwise - yes - you would look flaky Chat Icon And if you are offered the job, make sure you tell them about the days in September up front.

Why what happened?

Where are you located, if childcare is an issue, I know someone (a SAHM) who watches 1 child and is looking for another PT....

GL whatever you choose!

Thank you.

I'm in queens, bordering nassau but
my DH didn't have a good feeling about the SIL so I never called HR back.
