hi! I am relatively old here but new for some subjects..
I had to post under a different name to ask some sensitive questions, I have family lurking I hope you understand.
I have been feeloing sick--I know first thing everyone will say is go to the doctor-I am and will but I want to ask if anyone else has similar symptoms or maybe a nurse knows. I asked a friend that was a nurse and well of course she made me nervous and I cannot go for a few days. here goes.. I seem to have food that had bothered me..I cut them out and felt great, I heard I lost too much weight and slowly added them back in. I dk if its coincidence but I am sick!!
I have pain pretty much as soon as I wake--above my belly button and as soon as I eat,..it lasts hours if not longer, I have a issue with when i have to go have a bowel movement I have to go NOWWWWWWWWWW. It can very well be IBS that they claimed years ago the bowel issue or not. It seems to happen 9 out of 10 with anything grain related, bread, pasta, whole grain or not. I can eat a sandwich have a flat stomach and by the time I am done be all distended and noot be able to button my pants. NAUSEA ALSO it has also happened from fatty foods like icecream-or..I had a sandwich earlier and then the icecream? just dk. I am not so keen on jumping immed to the doc for being a human guinea pig-I wanted to do a process of elimination diet but woke this morning with such a extreme lower back ache I just dk. You google and well it can be freaking ANYTHING!!
anyone else have somethng like this???tia!!!

My Boss is Gluten Intolerant aka Celiiac disease. and whenever he has processed flour (white or wheat) the same things happen to him that you described happening to you.
I would make an appointment with a gastro specialist.
Hope you feel better soon!

If you go to a board certified doctor, there is no reason for you tobe a human guinea pig. He or she will listen to your symptoms and send you for the necessary tests. These test need to be preformed in order to receive a proper diagnosis and receive proper medication if necessary.
Step away from google and LIF and call a Dr.

oh no of course! I was just putting the question out there becaus I cannot get in to even get a referral for a couple of days and then the wait for the gastro-and of course they will run test where I have to run here, there and everywhere. My idea was if I put it out there and it sonds like I can just do a elimination diet I was going to try that. U r right though-I have to go. ty.

She said they will ask me to do that anyhow.. Celiac is what its sounding like..not so bad I guess if it spikes my sugar anyhow..thank u everyone!!

Re: hi! I am relatively old here but new for some subjects..
you need to see a GI dr, but my mom suffered like this for a while and found out she had an overgrowth of yeast in her gi tract. Yeast is so overlooked by GI drs. they examined my mother 8 ways from sunday...pill cam tests, endoscopies, colonoscopies..u name it.
blood work came back inconclusive for chrons, colitis, diverticiulitis, etc.
Her GI dr. was pumping her full of different antibiotics for over a year, trying this and that. and that just makes yeast worse apparently. He called my mother "an enigma" b/c he couldnt figure out what was wrong and suggested she go on prozac b/c it had to be all in her head or stress related.
Look into yeast overgrowth, look into have a DNA test for celiac. Blood tests often give false negatives for celiac disease. and eve if its other things bother you other than gluten, still get it done. If you are a carrier for the gene you can exhibit symptoms at any time..early in life, later in life.
good luck!

Re: hi! I am relatively old here but new for some subjects..
It sounds Celiac or Lactose intolerance.
It could be anything from that to IBD.
Problem is, if you don't go to the doc with this down the road you may suffer from permanent damage and may have to address it more urgently.
Do yourself a favor and make the appt. Go get the tests done. They will be conculsive either way, you don't have to guess anymore and think about it constantly. Get treated and go on with your life.
I've been through all of the tests and they aren't pleasant but they were necessary. I didn't take care of myself years ago and landed in the hospital. It scared me enough not to ignore it anymore and to stop self treating and diagnosing.
Most of your immune system is dependent upon a healthy gut.
Let me know if you want to talk. I have an excellent gastro with an in office endo suite.

You sound like my MIL. However, when she is doing the south beach diet, all of her problems that you are describing are GONE!!!!! She swears by it. You may want to try it.

I agree. Also the fatty foods make me think gallbladder. Well one thing I can tell you is if it is a food sensitivity it is most likely not life threatening. You shouldn't worry. Go to the Dr they will probably do an ultrasound and some tests and help you.

Definitely sounds like this. My aunt has it and was diagnosed just a few days ago. It's not that horrible. You just have to eliminate anything with glutten. There are so many places that offer glutten free these days so it shouldn't be that bad.

Re: hi! I am relatively old here but new for some subjects..
I agree with everyone else who said Celiac. My sister was diagnosed with Celiacs about a year ago & for atleast two year prior to that I saw her suffer first hand, every single day. Constantly feeling sick, never feeling full after eating, never digesting food correctly, getting an instant rash from being in the sun, etc. I can go & on with what she dealt with. The worst was that she lost like 20 pounds super quickly because she was tired of feeling sick all the time. Ever since she was diagnosed & has been watching what she eats she feels better. I will never say that she feels 100% because the damage that is done, is irreversible.

I thought gall bladder or bile duct too. I had the same pains, but it had nothing to do with fatty foods. I could eat a peach, kashi, whatever and double over with pain. Turns out i had a leaky bile duct spewing bile in my insides! Get to a GI asap.

It's sounds like you might have Celiac's Disease or Crohn's. Both can lead to infections of your intestines if you do not treat it with meds and/or diet. Go to the Dr!
