Re: Replying to jobs on Craigslist - Legit companies?

I've soo been there!! a few emails i got back from ads from there were all scams. I've been keeping a close eye on my credit report just in case.

i've read somewhere to submit resumes w/o the header info..no personal info. state in your email i guess a phone # or email to be reached if they are interested.

There are many ads on there that are probably legit and use the hidden craigslist email so i wouldnt rule that out. You start to learn real quick what to look for in the actual ads though.

and any emails you get from a background check company saying you applied to something and you need to complete the search request are usually scams. (I think the company is PreScreen)
and emails from career boards asking for personal info are also phishing scams.

Re: Replying to jobs on Craigslist - Legit companies?

There are definitely may legitimate and reputable companies that use Craigslist to recruit for positions. Sometimes it's a confidential spot and the only way to get resumes is through a "blind ad" such as ones you find on Craigslist, Monster, Careerbuilder, etc. I would just advise you to use common sense. If it reads too good to be true, then it probably is.

Good luck with your search! Chat Icon

I have had no problesm with legitimate businesses on craigslist, but I use common sense. I know what i am looking for and can tell if an ad it a little off. I find that most companies just use the blind craigslist email not their business email.
