Money Tree

We are going to a suprise party on Saturday. I think he is 60?
Not a clue what to get him.......
Last night while my wonderful hubby was snoring and I couldnt sleep I was thinking what we can get. Then I thought of making a money/scratch off lottery tree
i think its a neat idea............
BUT
I dont even know where to start!!

Anyone ever done this before? Or have any words of advice on doing it?

Re: Money Tree

You can do this one of two ways . . . buy a fake plant and some floral wire (available at Michaels, AC Moore etc) and attach the tix that way OR you can go to Michaels or AC Moore and pick up a large styrofoam cone (think Christmas tree) and whatever else you want to decorate with (ribbon etc) and make it yourself.

Here is a lousy pic, but hopefully you get the idea:

Re: Money Tree

I made one once and just took a big branch from the yard. I folded the money like an accordian and tied a ribbon around the middle and then tied it on the tree. I put the tree in a pot I had with some styrofoam and crinkly tissue paper on top.

Another big hit for parties like that is a pizza.

You fan $1 bills out in a pizza box to look like a pizza. (hope that makes sense) you need a little but of tape to hold it in place in a few spots. put a big bow of bunch or curling ribbon in the middle. on the inside top of the box write "No Sauce, No Cheese.....just plain DOUGH"
