How do I extend my certificationn so that I am certified for kindergarten?

Right now I am certified for grades 1-6. How do I get an extention so I am certified for kindergarten? Is it just a test? More classes? Anyone have any info on this?

I'm taking a class right now at Stony Brook that, combined with one other class will extend my 7-12 certifications to 5-12. It's a new course for them

I don't know if they have a class like that for kindergarten extension at Stony Brook, but maybe look around at colleges?

If it's just the two courses to extend a 7-12, then I would think it would be the same for kindergarten. Sorry if that doesn't help too much.

I went on the TEACH online website, applied for the certification with BOCES, sent BOCES my official transcripts, a resume and my teaching certificates and they sent me my certification. I guess I had enough credits in early childhood that I didn't have to take any additional classes. But you have to apply for the certification and they will tell you what you need to complete it.
