if this is your second pregnancy
how do you feel about it compared to your 1st time ?
I was soo excited the first time, thought about it all day how there was a baby inside me, took pics all the time.
Now, I dont think about it at all. I get dressed and just make sure the belly is covered.
I feel terrible but I wish it was over already. I'm much bigger at 4 months now and already have the aches & pains that didn't arrive until 7 months last time. I think that has a lot to do with it.
I'm hoping when I feel the baby moving I will be more excited.

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I'm almost 10 weeks and I feel like CRAP, terrible all day sickness not just morning. My back and feet are killing me and some days I don't leave the couch. Most days I'm starving but feel like i need to puke.
I'm excited about having another but know i still have a LONG way to go, I already feel "bigger" my boob are wayyy more supple...lol and since I already have DD's I'm scared at how big they'll be around the 9 month mark
I totally know what you mean about feeling the baby move, I think once that happens it will be more "real" and I'll be even more excited

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I honestly didn't really feel "connected" to this pregnancy until about an hour ago when I saw his face on the 4D sono. I think it is totally normal - we are so much busier this time with baby # 1, and we know what to basically expect this time, etc... KWIM? You will get there!

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I'm newly preggo with my 2nd and I remember taking the test and my son was in the bathroom freakin gout bc I wouldn't let him pee in a cup and that's how it all started....I found out I was preggo and 2 minutes later it was back to business as usual, whereas with the 1st I felt like the world stopped and we were beyond the moon excited....not that we're not excited, but it's just very different now.

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I'm 34 wks PG with my 2nd, and it's a completely different experience. With #1, I was on bed rest for most of the pregnancy...so I couldn't help but lie there and think about it. I was excited & anxious, and it was all a new experience.
This time, I'm too busy and tired from chasing around a 17 m/o, and I guess as a BTDT, not as excited over every little flutter and kick. I'm achy and uncomfortable and with this heat, I am so done!

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I def agree with it being a much bigger deal with the first, and counting every week, and it going by so slow. This time chasing DD around, working FT , aches and pains, no sleep. I am 32 weeks friday and am done already! Then you have the worries about how DD #1 will be and the adjustment etc. Much diff than the first!

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
Thanks everyone!!
Makes me feel alot better.
Someone asked me the other day how far along I was. I said a little under 4 months.
Then I thought how I wasnt even sure what week I was at. Last time I could have told you to the day.

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I definitely feel different this time around. I also didn't take as many pictures, I just made it a point to do 1 at the start of each month/trimester.
This time we are in our house and yet at 34 weeks, the nursery hasn't even been started
I am very overwhelmed with the thought of caring for a NB and 2 1/2 ear old.

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I am still really excited, but the experience is so different this time. My 19 m/o does not care that I am tired or not feeling well- she just wants to play the way we always have. I am finding it a lot harder to be pregnant with a toddler running around. I had a feeling it would be this way though, so I rested and took it easy a lot during my 1st pregnancy!

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I totally understand the feeling. My son is just over 13 months old and I am 18 weeks PG with my second and I am not sure how he will respond to the next one. With my son I had so much energy and was running all over the place right up til the end and this time around I feel run down and sick all the time. Good luck it will work out in the end..

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
Truth? I hate being pregnant and I wish it was over already. I am horribly uncomfortable.
Im sure many will scoff at that sentiment given the fact that I should be gratful for the success of my IF journey and yes, I am. But Iam 2 years older - turning 40 on Tuesday - chasing after a toddler, and working full time. I am exhausted and burnt out.
I also feel as if the level of excitement for Zippy's arrival (on my part) is not nearly as much as it was for Abby. I feel terribly guilty about that. We just bought a house and moved. The pregnancy made it very hard to accomplish all we needed to do.
I work with extremely volitile and dangerous children at work. I have been spit on, hit and had chairs thrown in my direction throughout various stages of my pregnancy. With 2 more weeks of summer school left, I am thanking G-d I have no sustained any injuries. When I was PG with Abby, my class was a lot more subdued - I was not fearful.
I also feel as if I was not able to tend to all of Abby's needs due to my physical limitations. On many levels, I feel SHE has been short changed.

After reading your post I got a pit in my stomach feeling sad that I will short change Chloe. This will KILL me to do that to her:) I guess we all do the best we can. I teach also, like you AND commute 105 miles a day to and from work. WOW, now I am getting nervous for all that's in store:)

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
Sadly I feel bad b/c I really feel like I haven't paid much attention this pregnancy. I took all the belly pics with DS and had a blog - the whole 9. But this time the months have just flown by. All of the sudden she'll be here in 4 weeks or so and I don't even have the nursery ready for her. I guess just being so busy with my toddler makes it a lot harder to focus on the pregnancy. I can't wait until she is here so I can start bonding with her.
ETA My biggest fear when I found out I was pregnant was that I would not be able to do everything I wanted to w/ DS this summer...and that has been true. It's been hard being so pg and trying to keep up with him - let alone get him to the park and the pool all the time. I'm pretty sure he doesn't care - he just loves to be with me, but I do wish we could have had this summer(my first off) jsut the two of us.

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
I'm 10 weeks PG with second.
This pregnancy is different physically. I did have lots of nausea earlier on but I think I'm mostly fine now. I am more achy than I was the last time around.
Emotionally, I think I was more excited for the first but that is to be expected. I'm nervous in a different way this time. I'm hoping March isn't here before I know it because I still feel like I need time to prepare myself.
On a positive note I think I'm less anxious this time around. Almost like I've BTDT. Which for me (I can be a big time worrier) is a good thing!

Re: if this is your second pregnancy
This has been a ridiculously tough pregnancy for me. Painful, exhausting, worrisome. It is hard to play with my two year old and he doesn't understand why I won't carry him. I am glad we are probably done after this baby I can't wait to give birth and be done.
