6w1d...Is it abnormal not to see a heartbeat ???
I went to the RE this morning for some spotting...
I was just there on Friday ( 5w5d) and I had a sac and yolk....Today (6w1d) it looked the same...The doctor said thats fine, but everything I am reading online is saying you should "see" the heartbeat at 6 weeks...
Anyone have any stories of inspiration to share ???
I was 7 weeks even with my DD when we saw it ( but didn't have the spotting so I wasnt seen between the first sono and then)

It's possible to see it, but not always likely.
We went for a sono at 6 weeks (we thouht we were 8) and the Dr had a reaaaally hard time finding a heartbeat (which is how we realized I was earlier than we thought).

I saw my DD's HB at 6w5d and heard it at 7w5d. It's still early so don't sweat it.

It's still VERY early so I don't think it's abnormal not to see it...i was 6 wks 6 days when I saw it.

try not to worry- my doctor doesnt even see patients for this reason until at least 8 weeks- since oftentimes there isnt much to see before then

I was 6w3d when I had my first appt and did NOT see a heartbeat - went back a week later and it was beating away. My doc had reassured me not to worry bc they often don't see a hb until closer to 7 weeks.

I didnt see an RE, but with DS my OB said she doesn't like to do a sono before 8 weeks because seeing hte heartbeat is hit and miss, and alot of pregnant woman get nervous if they don't see it right away!

I didn't see an RE, so I didn't have a sono until 8 weeks.
I think it's still very early on for you, and honestly even one day could make a difference at this point. I wouldn't worry yourself,I am sure everything is fine!

I didn't see or hear the heartbeat until later in my pregnancy. When I first went in at 6w4d I only saw the sacs. A week later, I heard a strong, beautiful heartbeat. It's still early!

I had spotting at 6w3d and went for a sono. It took the Dr forever to find a slight flicker of hb.
We went back at 7w1d and it was a lot bigger and we could see it instantly.

 im sorry my update got u concerned. yes today at 6w2days the re saw a heartbeat BUT i was told they werent even expecting to see that today. Just wanted to make sure the yolk was present, however this baby is measuring ahead a few days (even though they know for sure baby is 6w2days today)
Usually the heartbeat is seen after 6.5 weeks and heard after 7-7.5
A yolk sac is definitely a good sign!!!!

I actually was concerned at the RE, but since they were being so non-chalant, I didn't want to look like an alarmist , so I didn't ask...Then I was kicking myself later...
Of-course Google is going to be the death of me over here

leave dr google alone!!!!  seriously at 6w1day it would be surprsing to see a heartbeat. the re was really surprised we even saw it today but she did say the baby is measuring a few days ahead.
