Seaford Pediatrics
My daughter is going to be looking into pediatricians soon. Anyone use them? How are they? Is there any one dr. who you like better? What are their office hours on weekends? Are they on call on Sundays? What hospitals are they affiliated with? TIA

We use them and LOVE them! I really love all of the Dr's. I don't see Dr. Kathy all that much- and therefore, she is the one that I like the least- but I think its because I don't see her that much. We saw Dr. Meckes mostly when DD as an infant- and then from age like 1 on, we primarily see Dr. Wren.
We have gone in there on a Saturday- both with a scheduled appointment and on an emergency. I think they are only open until like 2 or 3 on Saturday. They are on call 24 hours a day- including Sundays.

I was just there today!
Love them. All 4 drs are great. The front office women are wonderful too and I NEVER have a problem getting DD in for a sick visit. They would rather her come in then take a chance.

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
I love them--I CANNOT say enough things about them--highly recommend them. My DH is a pharmacist right next door and has been working with them for over 10 years--they are so professional and will have called me right back whenever I have a question. One time DD had a 104 fever on a sat and they called us back in less than 10 mins.
They have well hours and sick hours and like I said I cannot say enough good things about the practice. We live in Sayville and use them as our peditrician.

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
All the doctors are amazing, they actually had us come in on Easter Sunday because DS was sick. Sometimes they can be busy but I actually like that so many people go there, it confirms what I already know. They are AWESOME!!!

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
I don't use them, so I don't have much info to share, but I have several friends who use them and really like them! The one thing I do know about them is they tend to be very conservative.

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
I use them and they have been wonderful to us so far. My kids have seen all the docs....but we tend to see Dr. Wren and Dr. Yaker the most.
They have well and sick appt.'s on Saturdays, evening hours and sick appt.'s on Sundays. My older son came home from the hospital the Thursday before easter and was jaundice and losing weight and Dr. Yaker saw him on Easter. Also, when my twins were born they were great....gave us appt before office hours so they doc could check their weights and they could be out of the office before any other kids got there.
My son also got sick on a sunday night about 8pm (valentines day) Dr. called back within 5 minutes and called the ER 2 times and asked to speak to me to see how we were doing. When they decided to admit him at about 2am Dr. Yaker got on the phone with me to go over everything then. Plus they came to see him that morning.

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
funny story about them...
I had a section at winthrop in May and as soon as I told the nurses who my Ped was, they warned me that Seaford Ped. docs have a tendency to come in EARLY to see the babies and speak with the mommies.
well, every morning at 6am or even 545, there was Dr. Lang or Dr. Wren, standing at my bedside. I was so embarassed I was a MESS and they would have to wake me everyday
they were awesome with DS in the hospital. we thought he might have had a heart defect and they did all the tests ASAP and explained everything to me in great detail and reassured me that all would be ok regardless of the results. Thank god he was fine but their genuine care went a long way!

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
Thanks so much for all your responses. It's great to hear such terrific things about them! I think they will be her choice too. The only problem is she'll be delivering at Good Sam, so I guess they won't be able to see the baby in the hospital.

Re: Seaford Pediatrics
Love them too!
There are 4 doctors in the practice. We tend to see Dr. Yaker, Dr. Meckes and Dr. Wren the most.
DD had a 104 fever at like 3am and Dr. Yaker called back within 10 minutes with help.
The office does tend to get very busy, but to me, that's a good sign (successful practice).
I like that they have sick and well waiting rooms. They are affiliated with Withrop Hospital.
I too, had a c-section and saw the pediatricians very early in the mornings...
