Checklist for Closing???
I know there have been posts similar to this before, but what exactly do you need to come prepared with (paperwork, id, etc) for closing on a new home?
Am closing on our house on Friday and want to make sure that I'm not forgetting anything!
Thanks in advance.

Re: Checklist for Closing???
Your lawyer should give you a complete list of all the checks you will need to bring and who they should be made payable to.

Re: Checklist for Closing???
Your lawyer will let you know exactly what certified checks to bring - and for what amount and who they are made out to. We brought our check book and it was a good thing as we had to write a couple additional checks.
Be ready to sign sign sign.
Don't forget to get the keys from the seller (and any garage openers...).

Re: Checklist for Closing???
You'll need your homeowners insurance policy if it was sent directly to you and not mortgage company. Otherwise it's just the checks. You need a photo ID.
If you were recently married and changed name bring marriage certificate if it's not changed on the photo ID already.
