RIP my "kitty brother" Jelly....
My "kitty brother" Jelly had to be put to sleep today because of kidney infection/failure. My dad brought him to the vet this morning and he made the decision because prolonging his life / bringing him home wouldn't have been good for Jelly, he would have been in pain.
I was at work but left to go to the vet to see him before they put him down. I sat with him in a room for about a half hour just holding him. He wasn't purring, but he was enjoying me petting him. In his 13 1/2 years he had NEVER sat on my lap like that. I loved every moment.
I'm a MESS, and I really don't want to have to break the news to DD, she's going to be heartbroken. We weren't expecting this, he has been lethargic and not eating as much, my dad said, but the vet said that is normal sometimes to not have a lot of symptoms.
RIP my Jelly boy

Thank you. He was ALL white with big green eyes. My dad got him from north shore when he was an itty bit of a kitten. He'll have fun in kitty heaven with his "brother" Fluff who passed away almost 2 1/2 years ago when he was 18 years old.

What a beauty! I am so very sorry for your loss. I know it doesn't seem like it, but you guys did the right thing for him by not letting him suffer. RIP Jelly
