Re: Has anyone taught envision math....
I've used it for the past 2 years (once in K, once in 1st). While there are some good things about it, I'm not the biggest fan. WAY too much paper and pencil for K and although not AS bad in 1st, still not great.
The learning bridge on the computer is pretty cool, though.

Re: Has anyone taught envision math....
I piloted it last year and LOVED it! My district chose to adopt Math in Focus instead this year which will be a nightmare.
What grade are you using it for? I teach 3rd and it was right on grade level. The lower elementary teachers were split - some liked it, some thought it was too easy.
Here are some things offhand that are good to know....
PRO'S - At first I didn't use the video lessons, but the kids enjoyed them and made concepts easy to understand.
- The "Problem Solving Sheet" is awesome. Really taught my kids to breakdown word problems and develop strategies to solve. It took awhile to teach the kids how to use but was well worth it.
- I gave the "Practice Book" every night for HW, there's not that much on it, then photocopied the Reteaching and Enrichment WS and kids chose side to complete based on their comfort level with topic. (I recorded what they did each night in case parents complained about not challenging blah blah)
- The online access is great for RTI. I gave the kids topic tests on the computer. The site automatically calculates scores, gives you an item analysis and puts them into spreadsheets and then provides online reteaching or enrichment activities based on their ability.
- There is a book to prepare for state tests. It is great. I used it and I think it helped a lot. The program in general uses similar wording to the state test which helps too. My kids felt very prepared when they saw the test.
CON'S - For the average student, the enrichment is good. If you have exceptional students, you'll need to supplement.
- There is a lot of photocopying.
I think I used the program to the fullest so if you have ANY questions, concerns, feel free to FM me. I was apprehensive about the program at first and ended up loving it. I hope you do too! Good luck!
