Anyone think they would be CF forever but
eventually changed their mind? Just wondering. We read so many of these articles where it seems like most of us CF by choice hear the inevitable, "you'll change your mind", just wondering if its happened to anyone here.

Re: Anyone think they would be CF forever but
I personally have never had the urge to have children... I believe DH did prior to meeting me. Once he met me I think he realized he would have a hard enough time putting up with me and my shennanigans without getting kids involved.

No, it was the opposite for us. We always wanted kids until about 7-8 years ago.

Re: Anyone think they would be CF forever but
was anti-kids when I was 15. then felt the same at 25 and now that I'm heading toward my 35th, still feel the same. DH also agrees with me and doesn't want them, so I lucked out! All of my ex-boyfriends were pro-kids and they kept trying to tell me I'd change my mind but I never did..

Re: Anyone think they would be CF forever but
I wanted kids at one point but within the last year and a half/two years I've started to rethink it.
I always thought I'd have kids but now that I don't and with having my marriage end I don't think I ever will and I'm really fine with that.
Interestingly, my cousin who's almost 50 said to me one night while we were out to dinner that she NEVER wanted children. She was married for 17 years, never wanted children, ever.
They got divorced.
She met someone else, and she said for the first time in her life she actually considered having a child with this man, though she feels she is too old now and has missed her window of opportunity.
Said she never felt that way with her husband, ever.
The notion blew her away so I guess anyone can change their mind at anytime.

Re: Anyone think they would be CF forever but
I changed my mind after I met my Stepkids (age 39). I never felt maternal until I met them. But I have ultimately decided to stay CF

Your last line rings true to me, even though i'm staunchly CF. However as I get older (and hopefully more mature) I have come to realize you can never say never. It's just how life is. One day you could be x, the next day y.

Re: Anyone think they would be CF forever but
I was definitely the type to say "hell no" to having kids.
I'm the youngest in my family and have had my share of dealing with nieces and nephews and had no interest in kids.
Then I met DH, and for the first time in my life, I considered the idea of being a parent...mostly because of what an amazing father I know that my DH will be.
I still have wishy-washy days where I'm not sure if I could do it. But I akin that to my fear of change more than anything else. Eventually I will have to bite the bullet and fall down the rabbit hole!
