Very dissapointed with Ikea Hicksville, NY
We looked for office chair several weeks ago and found one that we liked at Ikea Hicksville. It was out of stock, so we ordered it from their warehouse (and already have paid for it, of course). The salesperson said they will call us as soon as they get it. Since then we never heard from them. The estimated delivery date was 08/12 and today is 08/23. We have their customer service phone number, but it's impossible to reach a live person there. Not at weekdays, nor at weekends. I already doubt if we will ever see this chair  . Have you ever had any issue with them? What can we do?

i had issues with ikea and deliveries and then other issues with them having the item but they couldn't get it down then so we had to go back.
i would look up other ikea's, in brooklyn and jersey and other areas and see if they have the item in stock. if so go there to buy it. that's what we did.

ive really had pretty good experiences with ikea- with what they have in stock... ive heard not to order from them bc it takes FOREVER and they can jerk you around.

I voted "other". I have always had great experience with them but I never "ordered" from them.
So I can't say I am disappointed but I never did what you did either.

It stinks when you take the hour drive there and spend an hour picking out what you want just to find out it's out of stock. I thnk they should label items on the floor if they are not in stock...

I would call the store directly and ask to speak to a manager about your delivery issue...

I'm really sorry now that we ordered this chair. The problem is that we already paid for it and I don't know how to get our money back.
It was my first experience with Ikea and I have to admit - the worst in my life!
The funny thing is that after we ordered it at Ikea, my husband decided to buy another office chair for his father's birthday. He bought it online for the SAME PRICE as Ikea chair was, and his father received an excellent chair just NEXT DAY after the order has been placed.

We've had terrible experiences, and so have our friends. They ordered thousands of dollars worth of stuff from them when they moved and most of it was all wrong and they refused to do anything about it.

The only experience I had was when we got our guest room furniture delivered and it was missing a piece. I called and they had it there and I went back and complained to management.
What did I pay delivery for when I had to drive to pick up the last piece.
They did refund us the delivery fee and gave us a gift card to the store
So they did turn the positive into a negative but I sure would dispute it if I had horrible service and wasn't getting any assistance.

The one thing I ever ordered from them - that was out of stock - same issue. Waited months and months. They never picked up the phone. Finally I went back there and they wouldn't refund the cost of the item. I called Am Ex to get my money back and I'll never order something from them again. If it's not there, I'll find it somewhere else....
