So after an entire year of trying to crotchet

I think I finally figured out single stitch and double stitch crotchet. I can't believe it's as easy as it is. It took me forever to figure out how to do it but I did it. Thank god for Youtube. Chat Icon

It is easy once you get the hang of it. Once you learn to read patters, there is no limit to what you can do with those two stitches.

I'm with you. Mine get tighter and tighter with each row until I can't get the hook through Chat Icon

even stitches comes with practice.
if you feel you're getting tighter and tighter, try making smaller projects... like discloths. or, you can put down you project, relax, and come back to it with a not-so-tight grip.
