Who works FT? How bad is it?
Just curious how many twin mom's also work FT???? How horrible is it? Any tips u can share on making it more manageable?
I go back to work next week and am really sad just thinking about it. I'll leave my house at 520am and get off the train at 440pm. I will have Fridays off though. Do any of you commute into the city?

Re: Who works FT? How bad is it?
Currently I am on maternity leave. I will be returning, I have several options on when I will return- possibly June 2012, however I might return to work January 2012, the girls will be 18 months. I work inQueens and I somewhat flexible hours/days off.

Re: Who works FT? How bad is it?
Me! I teach in Queens and have about a 45 min commute without traffic so anywhere from 45- and hour and a half each way. Leave at like 6A and get home like 4:30P.
In the beginning it was very hard. They were 13 weeks when I went back and they were still waking every 3 hours to eat. At times I felt like I was literally going to fall asleep at the wheel. It was really really bad. As time went on it get easier. I always say it gets easier it is never ever easy. I would race home every single day to see them and seeing them at the end of the day was just the best. I also live for the weekends.
I also pumped at work as well and I will continue to do that when school resumes in September.
I totally understand how you feel.

Re: Who works FT? How bad is it?
I work FT! It's really not that bad. I'm not going to lie, just like with any mom returning to work for the first time, it's hard. But, as with anything, it does get easier.
I actually find that when I'm working, I'm on a better schedule and enjoy the babies more. When I was home, it was a lot harder, if that makes any sense???
I think of it this way, the babies are still taking 2 naps a day so that's 4 hours a day I wouldn't see them anyway. When I come home, we have dinner together, play, I give them their baths. I spend a ton of time with them and my 4 year old.

My DH will be staying home w/ the boys on Mon and Tues. They will be in daycare on Wed and Th. I will be home w/ them on Fridays. For 2 days a week, we are paying just over $1000 a month (for both). Some places wanted to charge $2000 a month for 3 days. I can't imagine what it would be for FT! I am definitely in the wrong business!!!
A lot of places will give you a discount (like 5 -10%) for the 2nd child. Start looking around now....get prices and go visit places!
