I'm not ready.
Seriously...next week is school?
I'm not ready. Kids aren't ready.
I've shopped for school supplies, need to label them..
my mom is shopping for clothes & I'll be doing that on my lunch hour this week too.
I'm not ready. I'm not ready for the first day of school. I'm not ready for afterschool activies, making snacks & making lunches, homework battles....I'm just not ready.
I want my kids to sleep in. I want them to whine that they're bored in the summer. I want summer back.
off to find a bag to hyperventilate in...

Re: I'm not ready.
I'm considering it 2 weeks since next week we only have 1 day of school and they dont' have after school. That won't be a true trial run since I'm off from work that day and my 2nd grader eats school lunch and my kingergartner has a 1/2 day so I don't have to pack lunch. So, 9/13 is the 1st day LOL!

Ugh! Once I get in the swing of things it will be OK I guess but right now I am not ready either. I think I'm going to make a to do list to get myself ready for it. So I can be more organized which always seems to be where the stress begins & ends for me. DS is going into 3rd grade and I heard the workload ramps up this year. Keeping him on task is not easy and my 4 year old has been a real stinkpot the past 2 weeks, I hope he straightens himself out LOL

Re: I'm not ready.
Well add me to the list. I'm not ready in any which way, shape or form.
You may find me on the sidewalk of the school sobbing. Thankfully the Jets home opener is that day as well so at least I can go drown myself in tequila

Re: I'm not ready.
Ugh same here. I have all their supplies. Im just not ready to try to wake my two up to get ready every morning. They give me such a problem every single day. Then the lunches, the running around. The homework. yuck. We had such an awesome summer. I think i hate the drill of school time, more then they do. lol.

Re: I'm not ready.
I hear that.
I still have so much to do. More clothes and underclothes to buy. I have to label his supplies.
All this and I am having surgery on Friday to have my gall bladder removed and I am worried that I will be stuck in bed and won't be able to finish up.
I am going to miss him.

Personally I think 12 weeks for middle school and 10 weeks for elementary is WAY too long.

Well this is definitely what I meant...these last 2 weeks have been rough. Real rough. I am also clomping around in a walking cast which does not help the situation at all.
After I posted on this thread last night I actually felt more anxious about the whole thing bc my son really needs help staying on task sometimes (quite a bit) even though he can knock the stuff out in 1/8 of the time, KWIM?
And what is with my SD, the generate so much paper, it's ridiculous. It really hit home last year when my DD started school as well. My kitchen island would become a blur of papers every afternoon.

Re: I'm not ready.
I am not ready to have them start school. I don't even get the chance to still have one baby. They are both gone at the same time. First and Last child to start school. I can't beleive they are even old enough for this to be happening. They are little men now. I am looking forward to the same schedule m-f since we have never had that before it was always different stuff on differet days, some days sitter, some at pre k, one with Mil, so not having to think about where they are going that day wil be nice, but I am so not ready for them to be school age. I can't even imagine how it will be when they are leaving for college. I might need to commit myself.

Re: I'm not ready.
Yeah.. I'm not organized. I don't have half their stuff together. I still have shopping to do. But I am ready for them to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
I guess what I'm saying is.. I'm ready for October - when everything is bought, they are acclimated and the routine is back in swing.

Re: I'm not ready.
Me neither! I do have her all clothes set, her supplies are mostly purchased & labeled. All that's really left to do is set up her account for buying lunch, but I still do NOT feel AT ALL ready for this. Kindergarten is scary for mommy.
