Breastfeeding Question
Can I start pumping right away and feed the baby from the bottle with breast milk?
My husband will be home with me for the Maternity leave, so he can also feed the baby and feel more involved.
If I can do that how does it work???
Would I pump on a schedule? Has anyone done this before???

Re: Breastfeeding Question
I have pumped from day one but only because ds was in the NICU. Most lactation consultants will tell you not to start pumping until 7 weeks if possible. If you decide to pump from the beginning a few things to remember Always pump after your first feeding in the morning and always create "new feedings" when pumping. Also make sure that you continue to pump at least 5 minutes extra on each side after you have emptied the breast this will stimulate your milk supply further. Lastly the baby will always get more milk from the breast than a pump can.
Good Luck!

Re: Breastfeeding Question
I remember reading that this isn't encouraged.
