Just wondering

My husband and I lost our daughter in May 2009 6 days after giving birth.
Yesterday, I had a D&C after having a miscarriage.
I am going to be seeking fertility treatment to find out why I keep loosing my children...what is wrong with me?!
But, I am really scared to get pregnant again and go through this heartbreak again. I don't think I can handle it again.
After loosing our daughter my husband and I did consider adoption. We just want to love a baby and give it a good home. It doesn't have to be our baby biologically. But, then we got pregnant so that went on the back burner.
I am interested in adoption. But, I have no idea where to begin to inquire about it or what to do. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

I am really sorry for your loss Struggling with any aspect of infertility is so emotionally draining. I wish you the best of luck in that regard.

As far as adoption is concerned, I would hit the library or the bookstore and start reading some books on adoption. There are many good ones and they really help give you a sense of what to expect.

I'd also recommend joining some chat boards dedicated to adoption and/or the type of adoption you're considering.

You can also go to an orientation session (usually free) with an adoption agency which also helps detail how the process goes.

I'm sorry that you have to go through this. I also struggled with fertility issues so I understand.
DH and I did research online. We also went to an informational seminar from an adoption agency to understand the process. We also talked with people that we know who adopted.

I'm adopted and my parents went to a APC (Adoptive Parents Committee) meeting to get some information on adoption (domestic and international). If you google them it'll give you a list of their upcoming meetings.
