Northport area Moms
Please recommend your Daycare Center or Home- Day care.
So far, I liked Kiddie Academy in Greenlawn, and also heard that a woman who works out of her home, also in Greenlawn was good.

My kids went to Kiddie Academy. I thought it was great duing the school year but wouldn't suggest it for camp. There isn't as much outdoor time as I really like & I'd like more space to run around. The other concern is there are not a lot of kids going from Northport. It is great because it's only closed for the major holidays so it doesn't follow the school calendar.
Laurel Avenue School has a daycare but they follow the school calendar so you'd need to be prepared to get vacation care. It's almost all Northport/East Northport kids & if your child goes to public school for kindergarten (which is 1/2 day), the Kindergarten enrichment aka before/after school program is in the same school.

And at least 2/3 of kids are the children of teachers. The place empties out during school holidays and they consolidate classes. The day is also 8-4... before care and after care is more $$$. It's not really conducive to a typical "business schedule".

Oh, I really like Island Kids, too. The owners & the director are wonderful people & there is lots of outdoor time.

Re: Northport area Moms
go to the library, they will have a list of all schools/childcare providers in the area!!!
I've heard really good things from the new place on 25A - the learning center (I think)

Re: Northport area Moms
My son has been in the Npt VA Day Care center since he was 10 weeks old. We are very happy there.
My advice would be to check out a number of places and also the website that lists center infractions and go from there. I think a lot will depend on what you're looking for and what just feels right for your family.
