Have you ever read a bomb?

Right now I am reading "Chasing Harry Winston" and it's just TORTURE I keep glazing over just trying to get through it. Just wondering if this happened to anyone else. I mean, I don't have to finish it, but I want to hoping it will get better...but so far I'm half way through and it's not.

Oh No! I just took this out from the library! I finished my other book (The Alchemist) this AM and was planning on starting "Chasing Harry Winston" tonight.

Uh-oh.

I listened to the audiobook of that and I felt the same way. It may have gotten a little better towards the end but not much. Sorry you're suffering!

If I'm reading a bomb, I'll just abandon it! Since my DD, reading time is a a minimum anyway, I'm only going to read books I like.

I usually give a book 100 pages. If I am still not into it, I stop reading it.

That's how I felt about the last 2 twilight books. A few people said to stick with it b/c they get better but I regret wasting that time.

I feel the same way!!!

I recently read 'American Wife'...which was good at the beginning but as the book went on it got worse and worse...I was pushing myself towards the end and the ending really made me angry that I read the darn book at all!

Re: Have you ever read a bomb?

The Shopaholic books, the main character bothered me sooo much! I hated that she couldn't take responsiblity for anything and things just worked out for her. I got thru them just to get thru them, in fact i don't think i ever finished one of them.

Re: Have you ever read a bomb?

yes, the whole twilight series.

but I HAD to read it to find out how it ended.

yeah, a little dissapointed with the whole series. It could have been wrapped up in one or two books.

It's funny but I re-read those books now and I see it the same way.

She was a flake who lied about everything, but nothing ever went wrong for her. I know it's cheesy chick lit, but there was no moral to those stories.
