Re: bird grooming
I do my guy myself. He really freaks out when I have to put him in the carrier and take him away from his cage so I try not to stress him anymore than need be. I accidentally got the quick once when he moved and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I was crying, I felt so bad and I was getting worried because it was gushing so much. Good to hear of a place nearby though if I ever need it though. Thanks.

Last time for me the kwik stop didn't help at all. I had to put pressure on the nail for about 5 minutes to make it stop. It was so scary!

That is scary! What kind of bird? I have finches, so if they bled for 5 minutes, they would have no blood left!

He's a Blue Headed Pionus Parrot. The blood was dripping on the paper while he was standing on his perch. I could smell it! There was blood everywhere. I had to grab the poor thing again and hold him down since the kwik stop was not working at all. I am so nervous now when I have to do his nails since that happened.
