12 week sono...Interesting appt with pic!
So I went for my 12 w sono today (I'm 12w3d). The baby looked great and measured ahead another 2 days although the sono tech told me to keep my original due date. The tech was looking at the baby from tons of different angles and then she got a shot of the underside of the baby. At the same time both DH and I saw what looked like male genetalia! And the sono tech said...yup! That could be a boy!!!! She of course prefaced that with telling us that it's so early on and that it was a 60% chance of it being right....and the sono could read differently later on. I posted the pic below to get your thoughts!
They also did the finger prick...How long did you have to wait to get your results and did you wait to tell people until after you got the results back? We are dying to tell people (and it's getting harder to hide!). Thanks! Let me know your thoughts! Image Attachment(s):

As for the finger prick, took me less than a week to get the results.

I have no idea how to interpret a sono pic - I'd say wait until you're 20 week sono to get a definitive answer on that gender !!

Such cute pictures!!!
I don't think boy parts actually develop until weeks 11 or 12 and they don't move down until a week or two after that... but you never know...
We were ok with telling people once we saw that the baby had grown appropriately and the heartbeat was still strong. We didn't wait for the results. We got those a week later at my OB appointment.

I always feel like you're my voice of reason on here. I read your post and said to DH, this is what we're going to do too! lol The heartbeat was perfect today (162bpm) and the baby is growing at an excellent rate. I think we're going to start telling the "masses" this week! I can't contain it anymore!

You will probably have the results within a week.
Looks like boy to me!! But I never knew they could get a pic like that so early!! Makes me eager for my 12 week sono tomorrow!!!!!

I'm only 8 wks and I'm DYING to just come out and tell.  This waiting game suckss! I really hate having a "fake" name. :-P
As for the sono -- it does look like it could very well be a boy!
Now it's the waiting game for confirmation.

There's still a chance it may not be a boy but I think DH and I would be surprised if that were the case. I really didn't think we could determine the gender this early on but of course, according to DH, it's because it's "his" son! lol Men will be men!
