He really wants to be it but he suddenly got worried he will be teased.

I don't think so.. but I'm not a rotten elementary kid.
My 9 year old and 7 year old said that they wouldn't make fun of someone dressed as Wolverine unless he was 8!

My 10yo DS just said it's not too old.
And my nephew, who was 6 last year, was Iron Man. So I don't think it's too old for characters.
