ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
Hi Girls, I just wanted to post a rave about Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor.
My 1st child was a complete surprise. When we started TTC for my 2nd child we figured we would just wing it....after 2 months of trying and nothing happening I decided to invest in the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. Clearly I was super impatient because TTC for 2 months is not a long time.
I used it for 1 month and nothing happened, however on our 2nd month I got a BFP. The biggest difference between the Monitor and the regular sticks is the monitor gives you about 5-6 days of when you are most likely to get pregnant. It shows you 2-3 days before you ovulate, 2 days of ovulation and 1 day after ovulation.
Anyway I know the feeling of really wanting to be pregnant and I just wanted to share this with you. The only thing I would note is if your period is not REGULAR this monitor will not work. You have to regularly get your period each month and your cycle has to be less than 40 days.
I am currently 4 weeks pregnant with our 2nd child...which I know is still very early.
HTH

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
I was actually just looking into this to see if I wanted to purchase it. I am thinking if I am not pregnant this cycle I might look into getting this. I am not liking spending the money though..haha

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
Honestly I didnt like spending the money either. Especially since we are probably only going to have 2 kids which means I used it twice.....
However FOR ME (and I stress for me) it really worked well and I wanted to share with everyone here because I know how difficult it is to want to be pregnant and not be.
Also I had no patience to chart and temp so this was a fairly easy way to track my ovulation. The funny part is the first month I ovulated on day 16 and on the second month (which is when I conceived) I ovulated on day 14. If I wasn't using the monitor I would have never known.
I bought mine off of Amazon which I think was slightly cheaper than getting it from CVS/Walgreens/Etc.

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
I stress a lot also and mostly over stupid things so this might work for me....haha I was looking on amazon so I think I will really consider it because I am not into charting and temping also. I think I would get too stressed out with that. Good too hear this can be just as good. We will see after this 2ww for me. :)

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
I used the ClearBlue OPK last month and nothing, although I just bought another kit yesterday to try for this cycle. I too hate to spend the money, but it might be worth it. thanks for the tip

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
how is this different from OPKs? don't they detect the same hormone? I thought the only way to confirm actual ovulation was with temping (which I don't do); this doesn't confirm that you O'd either does it?
either way, congrats on your BFP!!

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
My friend gave me hers. I just had to buy the sticks. Her friend bought hers on ebay. So if anyone is looking to save $$, search ebay for a used one.
This would be my first month trying but, I screwed up the timing (totally my fault bc I didnt read thru the directions) so I was forced to test at night bc that is the time I set my CD1. When you should really test in the am. So, we are going off my CM this month. Next month I plan to use it properly and I can't wait.
The friend that gave it to me has 2 children and she conceived both using the CPEFM. The first one took her 2 months, the 2nd 1 month.
Congrats on your pregnancy!

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
I think I bought it for $145 on Amazon, so you can definitely get it cheaper than $200.
Egg: Thank you so much for your well wishes. I never used an OPK so I don't know exactly how they work but I know the monitor detects the ovulation hormone which is the same as the OPK.
I think the big difference between the OPK and the monitor is the monitor will let you know when the hormone is increasing which the monitor refers to as "high fertility days." It than also tells you when you are ovulating which is your "peak fertility days." In total the monitor gives you 5-6 days you should be so you can get pregnant.
I might be completely wrong but tempting and charting does not let you know the few days before ovulation that you are still consider fertile. They only tell you when you have ovulated. I think when your temperature spikes it is letting you know you already ovulated, not that you are about to ovulate.
Anyway I had a very successful result with the monitor and if you read the reviews on Amazon they are mostly very positive so I wanted to share with the board.

Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor
I used a CBEFM and by the 3rd cycle I was PG. Unfortunately it was a chemical- but either way, it worked. With first DD it took me 8mos with OPK, temping, FF. You name it, I did it. I love my CBEFM! Definitely worth it!

Oh wow it is. I hate to buy it in my 2ww but I can't resist that price. Is it stupid if I buy it in my 2ww? haha That is a really good price though.
