Re: xpost from Parenting-NC restaurant bans screaming kids

This will be good for drama today.

When my niece and nephew were little they were taught how to behave in a restaurant. Granted, there were times when each would have a hissy fit, but they were promptly taken out of the restaurant until they got themselves together. Sometimes it was boredom or hunger or a needed diaper change that drove them to cry out.

It's a part of life to have children in it. We can't control what goes on around us. I'm more tolerant than DH is, of hearing a crying child in a restaurant, in an airplane, anywhere, but I am not as tolerant when the caregiver is not doing anything to rectify the situation.

i very rarely experience the screaming kid in the restaurant thing (while shopping though...Chat Icon). maybe it's the places i go, the times i go, or how drunk i am. so i don't think i'd need to go out of my way to go there if it were local.

the sign's funny though.

sadly, this was from back in early september so i don't believe any new drama will ensue unless it's bumped.

as for the topic at hand..

as far as i'm concerned there are places that are "kid friendly", if i'm not in the mood to be in a loud place i don't go there.

live and let live.

ITA. Kids will be kids and they'll cry sometimes and throw a tantrum. It's how the parent handles the situation that pisses me off!
