do you ever feel like it was a dream?

its been 7 years since my dad passed. it feels like an eternity and also the blink of an eye all at the same time.

sometimes it seems so surreal. like i never knew him, he was just a dream. it feels like the time I had with him was so short. maybe my memories are becoming foggy? that scares the crrap out of me i dont EVER want to forget him. i try to hear his voice is my head or picture his smile or his face ... its getting harder, especially to hear his voice

its so hard to put into words. i just feel like i never really knew him.

aww, friend, i'm sorry you're feeling this way

I'm sure you're not forgetting...there are just SO many new memories that are taking up space in your brain, so those other "dad" memories are not as in the forefront as they once were...but they certainly will never be gone.

Think of all of the things that have happened since - all of the marriages, babies, homes, people moving, there are just so many things that have happened since then that you probably don't "use" those memories as much, and maybe have to work harder to retrieve them??
