Crib question

I am so clueless when it comes to baby gear and essentialsChat Icon

So when you buy a crib you have to buy a mattress also right? but is it just one mattress? In every picture of a crib i see - it looks like two mattressesChat Icon Especially with the bedskirt -where would that goChat Icon

Thanks girls!

ETA - what else do i need? Just sheets for the matress, bedskirt and bumpers?

Re: Crib question

It's one mattress. The crib should have a support frame.

Re: Crib question

I asked my SIL the same question. Her answer was that some people choose to have 2 mattresses or the crib has levels you can place the matress (high/low) depending on your height to place the baby down in the crib.

So does the bed skirt hang over the support frame?

Re: Crib question

yeah, it sometimes looks like there are several mattresses because of the bedding (actual mattress, bumper, crib sheet). but it's just one mattress! Chat Icon.

Re: Crib question

I've never seen 2 mattresses in a crib. We don't have a bed skirt, but I guess you'd put it between the metal support on the bottom and the mattress.
